If there is any game to start off your New Year with it should be something light and whimsical like this game. It’s an 8 out of 10 in that the game does what it sets out to do well, but the Switch version drops a point for the performance hitches.ĥh PlayedHad an amazing time with this one. It’s an enjoyable 4 hour romp through a very interesting world and I’m glad I bought it. Unfortunately there are a few bugs which can see you hung up somewhere and requires a reset of the game. Performance wise the game is ok, but there’s some significant stutters toward the end. Graphics are pretty good but on Switch they do suffer more than I expected. The voice acting is great, and is covered by a few stars.

The score on this game is stellar, making you feel like a rockstar. There’s some light rhythm sections but honestly it’s not hard. Gameplay wise it’s pretty simple - walk around, chat to people, interact with a few things and play guitar. Without spoiling things, this begins an intergalactic quest to figure out who he wants to be as a performer. The young fella, Francis, is expected to perform his first show and everyone is expecting a recreation of his uncle. It is centred around the nephew of a famous folk singer.

This will trigger midway through the Jungle.3h 55m PlayedThe Artful Escape is a simple walking simulator game with minor platforming elements. Make sure to slam on every one of these in each of the 3 areas, and win the mini-game that appears after. There are 1-2 in each area that are missable. Many of these are mandatory for progression, but not all of them. Stand on top for a few seconds and the achievement will trigger.Īmp Jammer: Throughout the 3 worlds (Snow, Desert, and Jungle) there will be circles with light coming up out of them, that you slam down on. Jump up high using the jelly and momentum and you can get on top of this arch without too much trouble. At the end of this section there will be a large jelly up onto a high plateau that has an arch above it and then a water slide immediately beyond it. How’d you get up there: Near the start of the 2nd world, the Desert, you’ll come across a water area with jelly springs. Stop in front of its and play your guitar for a few seconds and the achievement will trigger. Snowman: Near the start of the 1st world, the Snow Mountain, there will be a single snowman in the background. This can also be done in many other places. Stage Fright: In your first encounter with Lightman, in Calypso, do nothing for 3 minutes while the game tries to get you to press notes. Make sure to run to the right first on the 1st floor. Hold down your guitar playing button and run around the entire 3rd, 2nd, and 1st floors of Calypso before talking to Zonn / Lightman. Light it up: After you first meet Zonn (the alien with its brain showing) outside of your house, you’ll be able to use your guitar and light up houses around the town. Guitar Legend: Complete the Game Missable The Journey Begins: Leave Lightman’s workshop
